D4rw1n: Made me want to claim mine
I've resisted thus far, because I am confident that the generous "every day for the rest of time" policy will cause me to ingest more than one day of empty Krispy Kreme Kalories
b1-67er: You better believe if there was a Krispy Kreme in Salinas I'd be in trouble.
So Coronavirus, on average, reduces your life expectancy by one year -- no matter who you are. I wonder how much a Krispy Kreme a day reduces your life expectancy?
D4: Much more I'm guessing
I can feel the years slipping out of my grasp as we speak, just looking at the damn picture
66: The bigger question, in my mind, is how much happier will it make you?
67: That's absolutely true.
***
Special K: Great great great.
Nice plating.
Are you side-effecting?
66: Sore arm only.
I'm using it as an excuse to do NOTHING.
So I'm saving myself (and others!) by vaccinating...
... Killing myself by what I eat and not exercising.

f3mb0t: Yay - enjoy!! They put TWO in my post-shot bag, and did not charge me for the strawberry smoothie I ordered with it.
66: WHOA!
WHOA WHOA WHOA!
THAT'S how you get a customer for life.
As long as...
1. Your customer doesn't die as a result.
=&=
2. You still have a business after giving away so goddamn much stuff.
f3: Yup. I am not really a fan of donuts, but I could not pass up a freebie. I got on the KK website and let them know about the unexpected kindness, and they sent me ANOTHER coupon for a free donut. They are running their business in a customer-centric fashion, which is a nice change to see.

b1-67er: If it's a girl it could be Musique Nonstop
66: So true•
I hadn't considered ...
I'm going to suggest that as a possible name.
Kometenmelodie 2 is awkward because:
1. No Americans can spell it.
2. Yanquis have yet to stretch their minds far enough to understand a '2' when there is no '1.'
BUT, you could call her Melody for short...
...Which is both pretty and nice.
And switch to Comet when you're drunk (or in the Xmas reindeer spirit).

b1-66er: My favorite new-to-me band name is on this delicious poster...
Bad cop / Bad cop
If ONLY they were as good as their name (which they can't POSSIBLY be)
Wait! I might be wrong.
b1-67er: The energy is right. Did Joan Jett have a kid?
D4rw1n: My (highly subjective) review of Bad Cop / Bad Cop:
Lyrics 4/10 for being didactic
Video 7/10 for being really good
Music 6/10 for very danceable but maybe a bit derivative
Overall feel 8/10 for being some kind of: (badass + likeable voodoo)
Above Average Cop / Above Average Cop
Verdict: Would go to their show

b1-66er: Living LARGE!
GM: <16-April> Going to be passing through Las Vegas. Completing our RV relocation. Normally would meet you for meal, but nothing is normal yet. So we might just fly on through and meet you next time we're in town.
b1: Sure.
Thanks for the thought.
How has the RV passage been?
GM: It's been great. Did some interesting things.
<canyon pic>
Grand Canyon interesting.
I am glad that I did it. I'm in an RV park in Boulder City. Driving this is way different than driving a car as you would expect. It does not handle well in the wind. (And we had our share of wind on this trip so that was challenging.)
The finances on this, in my view, do not work. We averaged 9mpg for 2200 miles. So that means if the RV was free (which it was in our case) it would be cheaper to drive a normal car and stay in hotels every night.
You have to ask yourself: how much is the premium to be in an RV worth?
I've driven a semi so I have the background for this beast. I can't imagine someone who hasn't used gears to go down mountain passes to a avoid overheating the brakes.
Our RV had 2100 miles on it when we picked it up and the side rear was scraped.
That is not a surprise.
I really enjoyed this trip but don't see myself doing it again. I love driving a car and staying in hotels. The flexibility is cheaper and in my view more fun.
(We had to bail on going to a golf course because of a low clearance bridge, for example.)
Those are my thoughts on RV life.
It's been a great trip, but I don't see myself doing it RV again.

b1-66er: "Scientists discover the "Monkeydactyl" — a Jurassic-era flying dinosaur with opposable thumbs"
b1-67er: More good news!
D4rw1n: Monkeydactyl was active on social media, worked as a sysadmin for a mid-size Jurassic electronics company, and was "a bit of a dick, to be honest," according to one coworker. But he was known for his devotion to his two pet Liassoscorpionides, Franklin and Mmzithphbbbt. "They were his life," said Lisa Pantangelo, a Vilevolodon who identifies herself as Monkeydactyl's "kind of ex." "He was always pinching their little cheeks with his damned opposable thumbs, like, 'aren't I special.'"

State of the District of the state
b1-66er: I'm interested in any comments you have here.
D4rw1n: I don't talk about it much, but the lack of congressional representation for 700,000 DC residents is deeply morally wrong. Statehood for DC is the correct remedy, in my view. The constitutional soundness of the remedy is preserved by the bill, which would merely reduce the size of the constitutionally mandated federal district to encompass the Capitol, the White House, and a few federal buildings
The filibuster is the only obstacle. There are pros and cons to ending the filibuster rule, but I've come around in favor of ending it
I'm not confident the votes are there right now to end the filibuster, though
b1: I think it's interesting. No one outside the ring even really knows about it.

The attention and perseverance is really beginning to shine through en tus arboles.
67: Perseverance is really rewarded in bonsai. Mistakes often turn into features in the long haul. Also time sort of smooths out styling errors. Mediocre styled trees can become great trees with enough age.
Or maybe you just convince yourself they are great after staring at them for twenty years.
